When reporting on what was sold there are five things to consider:

  1. The report period: today, yesterday, this week, from date x to date y
  2. The date field for analysis: date created or date closed
  3. The position of the invoices... open, closed, open and closed
  4. The layout
  5. Special filters

In particular the date field is very important.

View this example to understand the issue:

Invoice created 29/04/2018

Invoice closed  01/05/2018

If we produce a report based on invoice creation date of the 5th month, this invoice closed in May would not appear in the report because it was actually created in April..

Similarly, if at the time of the report the invoice was still open, it would not appear in the report.

So you must be careful and set a standard.

The comon report default standard is DATE CREATED + OPEN AND CLOSED INVOICES. This will help you produce consistent results.

Factors affecting the report

a) Open Invoices can still be edited

b) New invoices can still be created

c) Closed invoices can still be opened and edited
