UPDATE: 13/12/2018: The following issue is related to the Google browser. The solution was to log onto the bank's website using the 'Incognito' option.


ISSUE: A customer reported an issue with their Westpac qif file.


During the import they would receive a message saying 'file in wrong format'. However it was a correct qif file.

On diagnosing the issue we discovered there was a lot of redundant space under the qif file which invalidated the format.



To Solve the issue:

  1. Open the file
  2. Go to the last character (^)
  3. Deleted all below (which is blank space)
  4. Re-saved as soeasy.qif
